ROLE PURPOSE: Supervise the 2nd shift production team to ensure that all processes and procedures are executed correctly on the production floor. Ensure and enforce safety, quality, and productivity requirements on a day-to-day basis, reporting results and making corrective actions as required.

MAJOR ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supervise day-to-day activity of production operators, leads, mechanics and material handlers.
  • Foster a trusting, collaborative work environment which builds team capability and drives desired culture.
  • Coordinate all facets of the day-to-day manufacturing process including assignments, line rotation, assisting in resolving Quality issues, resource planning, line opening and closing.
  • Develop complete understanding & troubleshooting of all equipment and components, including computer interface.
  • Clean, set-up, and operate equipment according to SOP.
  • Support operators in reducing set-up time, increasing machine uptime, identifying, and performing operator training needs.
  • Oversee all data collection requirements.
  • Conduct periodic direction setting meetings with the production team.
  • Read, interpret, and complete production documents.
  • Assist in drafting new SOPs to support business needs.
  • Coordinate employee schedules (breaks, timecards, overtime, etc.).
  • Participate in employee performance reviews and supporting improvement or development needs.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Cross-trained in quality functions (proctoring) and warehouse material handling.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to GMP requirements.
  • Servant leadership with a focus on helping others reach their maximum potential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
  • Ability to provide real-time feedback in a positive manner.
  • Flexibility in schedule, including occasional mandatory overtime.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CREDENTIALS:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing/production.
  • Intermediate computer skills including basic knowledge of MS Excel and ability to use ERP system.
  • Some supervisory or team lead experience required.
