Position Summary:
The primary responsibility in this role is to manufacture products by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work flow. A background in a food/dietary supplement industry is a plus. Ability to work in a strong team-based environment is essential. The production supervisor operates out of the Vital Proteins warehouse in Franklin Park, IL and reports to the Production Manager.

Shift - Night 11:00pm to 7:30am

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage completion of batch production records
  2. Supervise production line employees, ensuring assigned tasks and positions are being executed
  3. Alert management of issues with equipment or materials
  4. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  5. Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  6. Contribute to SOP development and ensure team members are trained in and following SOPs.
  7. Ensure the manufacturing and packaging operations and production employees comply with food safety, quality, and cGMP requirements under HACCP, NSF, and SQF programs.
  8. Train and ensure the team is following GMP processes and procedures.
  9. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  10. Other duties as assigned

Experience and Education Requirements:

  1. High school diploma, Associates degree preferred
  2. 1+ years previous production supervisory experience
  3. Ability to maintain quality and safety control standards
  4. Basic understanding of warehousing and concepts
  5. Highly organized, able to multi-task, and follow direction set by the manager
  6. Good communication skills and comfortable working with all team members
  7. Ability to lift 15-20 lb. boxes repeatedly
  8. Able to stand for extended amounts of time
  9. Must have prior experience working in a food manufacturing environment
  10. Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include some weekends
  11. Must be able to read, write and understand English
  12. Bilingual Spanish highly preferred but not required

The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000.00 to $90,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
