Job summary

Georgia-Pacific, LLC is hiring a Production Supervisor for the Jonestown, PA Mailers facility. This role leads rotating shift operations, covers for other supervisors, and supports safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing, plus a Bachelor’s degree or higher, and experience in print/packaging operations with coaching skills. Dupont schedule transition is planned for year end.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience as a supervisor within industrial manufacturing.
• Willing and able to work Monday through Friday, with a planned transition to a Dupont schedule at year end.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Experience managing print & converting or packaging production operations.
• Experience coaching and/or teaching others.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to (Stand-In) supervisor to cover for other supervisors who are on vacation, sick leave, or otherwise unavailable.
• Be available to step in at short notice to cover supervisory gaps to maintain continuity in operations.
• Facilitate the facility certification process with the Superintendent to ensure compliance.
• Conduct regular assessments and updates to the training program to meet evolving team and company needs.
• Drive safety excellence by promoting involvement, ownership, and accountability; investigate incidents and participate in root-cause analysis.
• Mentor hourly personnel through coaching, training, and development in safety, quality, conflict resolution, and production.
• Provide constructive feedback to other supervisors and management about performance issues or improvement opportunities.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific’s Mailers is a part of the Packaging and Cellulose business, the Mailers business is expanding its product lines, working with key customers to create and launch one or more new products to complement our already thriving recyclable padded mailer business. This facility is climatize and has state of the art equipment. This role works on a rotating shift schedule.

• Serve as the go-to (Stand-In) supervisor to cover for other supervisors who are on vacation, sick leave or otherwise unavailable.
• Be available to step in at short notice to cover any supervisory gaps to maintain continuity in operations.
• Facilitate the facility certification process in close coordination with the Superintendent to ensure operational compliance.
• Conduct regular assessments and updates to the training program to meet evolving team and company needs.
• Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigating strategies; investigate incidents and participate in resolution of causes.
• Serve as a Mentor through coaching, training, and developing in a positive work environment, hourly personnel in safety, quality, conflict resolution and production.
• Provide constructive and constant feedback to other supervisors and management about performance issues or improvement opportunities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a supervisor with direct reports within an industrial Manufacturing.
• Willing and able to work Monday through Friday, with a planned transition to a Dupont schedule at year end.
