Georgia-Pacific in Taylorsville, MS is seeking a Production Supervisor (Shift Supervisor) to lead a wood products production team of 20–30 people in a continuous manufacturing environment, aiming for injury-free operations and top-quality output.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial/manufacturing or military setting.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment, including noisy areas without climate control.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift schedule, including day, night, weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and PC-based production reporting systems.

  • Supervise/coordinate production efforts to drive improvements in EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs.
  • Facilitate team development, employee skill growth, problem-solving and resolution.
  • Drive safety excellence through employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to eliminate hazards.
  • Monitor product quality and direct crew members to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues.

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Production Supervisor in our lumber mill in Taylorsville, MS. As a Shift Supervisor, you must be open and flexible to work any shift. You will lead a team of 20 to 30 members.

What You Will Do
  • Supervise/coordinate production efforts that drive improvement in all associated work processes affected EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs.
  • Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution.
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
  • Monitor product quality and provide direction to crew members to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment
  • Must work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in noisy areas without climate control
  • Must work any assigned shift schedule, which may include day, night, weekend and holiday work hours
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PC-based production reporting systems applications
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience in Lumber or other Wood Products Operations
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Maintenance experience to include electrical knowledge of PLC and basic troubleshooting
