The role emphasizes coaching, lean improvements, and effective coordination with the union while maintaining budgetary and operational targets. This is an on-site, full-time position in a dynamic metal processing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires 2–5 years of supervisor experience.
• Melt shop or foundry experience preferred.
• Prior union work experience preferred.
• 5S and lean methodology experience preferred.
• Ability to work 8–12 hour shifts.
• Strong supervisory, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflow of the department and monitor process steps.
• Schedule and assign personnel; set priorities and monitor progress.
• Manage hourly employees including timekeeping, pay, discipline, and PTO approvals.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and revise procedures while managing budget and staffing.
• Develop staff through orientation, coaching, and training.
• Maintain safety and quality by enforcing standards and ensuring equipment operation.
• Coordinate with the Union under the collective bargaining agreement.
• Provide production performance data and respond to inquiries.
