Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of corrugator / converting supervisory experience in a packaging facility.
• Experience in Lean environment; Six Sigma certifications.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving.
• Ability to embrace continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the shift with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Act as first point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and enforce control procedures.
• Coordinate production activities with other departments to meet goals on time and cost-effectively.
• Monitor production activities to prevent waste and maintain schedules.
• Input production data into the system to measure KPIs on efficiencies, downtime, and inventory.
• Provide recommendations to improve safety and environmental health.
• Produce daily shift production reports and reviews.
• Control load factors and workflow for maximum capacity and efficient labor use.
• Manage and coach employees, with performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain staff by recruiting, orienting, training and developing growth opportunities.
• Direct maintenance to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure plant safety regulations are followed and promote safety consciousness.
• Ensure daily adherence to standards and customer commitments.
