Job summary

Sharon Tube, a Zekelman Industries company, is seeking a hands‑on Production Supervisor to coordinate labor, drive employee development, and ensure safe, efficient plant operations in Niles, OH. You will enforce safety procedures, uphold quality standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

The role requires strong communication, problem‑solving, and team development skills in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Associate degree in management or supervision preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of shop floor systems such as MES, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong decision‑making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team‑building abilities.
• Effective time management in a production‑driven environment.
• Ability to maintain regular, full‑time onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

• Develop work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels and achievement of production goals.
• Delegate responsibilities to team members and maintain accountability for performance outcomes.
• Provide training and cross‑training, conduct performance evaluations and reviews, and initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
• Hire, coach, develop, monitor, and evaluate team members and recommend personnel actions for approval.
• Perform quality checks on equipment and production areas to ensure customer and quality standards are met.
• Generate and review daily operational reports to ensure shift continuity and address issues proactively.
• Monitor and supervise cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate maintenance needs to minimize operational disruptions.
• Collaborate with the Quality Department to develop and oversee site quality standards.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve plant performance and operational efficiencies.
• Document workplace injuries, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to reinforce a safety‑first culture.
• Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
