Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the assigned area, drive on-time delivery, and ensure safety and quality in production. You will hire, train, and manage performance, coordinating with management and HR as needed.

The role requires strong supervisory experience, excellent communication and problem-solving, and a willingness to work across locations. You will work within Thorlabs' Quality Management System to maintain standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar and progressive position with supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; basic math and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of all personnel within assigned group and include: interview new hires and manage capacity to demand.
• Ensure production goals for volume and quality are met and maintain workflow on the production floor.
• Coordinate with Production Planning/Purchasing to establish and maintain an on-time delivery schedule.
• Advise on design and lead times for Custom and OEM products to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Monitor attendance, conduct performance assessments, and recommend promotions or terminations.
