Job summary

YKK AP America Inc. in Georgia seeks a Production Supervisor to direct unit operations ensuring efficient use of resources, safety, and quality. You will lead building products manufacturing, develop staffing guidelines, hire and evaluate staff, and drive continuous improvement across the shift.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years plus in construction/millwork, and proven leadership. Strong Microsoft Office skills and communication abilities are essential; 5S training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• At least 2 years of experience in construction, millwork or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership in formal or informal roles.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Must have good communication and organizational skills; 5S Training preferred.
• Quality oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead the manufacturing of building products to meet production demands, while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
• Develop and implement headcount/staffing guidelines while controlling manpower costs.
• Interview, hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace employees as required to ensure performance objectives are met/exceeded.
• Perform all time approval functions and coordinate times off coverage.
• Maintain leadership and supervisory skills including developing and training employees to assume higher responsibilities; conduct daily shift meetings for Safety and Production.
• Ensure all incidents including environmental and near misses are reported, investigated and documented with preventive/corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement plans including 5S to reduce costs.
• Interact with Quality team for improvements.
• Review and recommend process improvements across employee development, production methods, equipment, quality, safety, and service.
• Deliver training to shift employees on setup/operation, testing, troubleshooting, metrics reporting and safety procedures.
• Identify potential career paths for employees and support training and development.
• Assign and manage employee schedules.
• Complete paperwork relative to line operation.
• Support Preventive Maintenance and downtime events as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of safety policies and address unsafe acts and conditions.
• Administer policies and local plant practices consistently.
• Provide coaching/counseling and progressive discipline as needed.
• Communicate with other production departments daily.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Other duties may be assigned.
