Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate need for a Production Supervisor III in Detroit, MI. This onsite, long-term contract role leads 15+ production employees in automotive manufacturing, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–11:00 PM, with full accountability for production schedules and process improvements. Requires 5–7+ years of supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing and a strong track record in union environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–7+ years of relevant supervisory experience; 8+ years if only a high school diploma.
• Proven automotive manufacturing experience.
• Experience supervising 15 or more employees.
• Experience in a UAW/union manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Experience with production scheduling, quality control, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise 15+ hourly production employees in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Manage daily axle assembly operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Monitor production output, staffing, downtime, quality, and operational constraints.
• Review customer production line-ups and ensure correct production priorities are executed.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure products meet specifications.
• Identify production and quality issues and lead root-cause problem solving.
• Manage absenteeism, timekeeping, employee accountability, and workplace concerns.
• Coach, train, and develop employees with clear performance expectations.
• Coordinate with Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, and Quality to resolve disruptions.
• Prepare and maintain production, quality, and personnel documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve production methods and efficiency.
• Maintain a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and employee engagement.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Production Supervisor III . This is a Long-Term contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Detroit, MI (Onsite).

Pay Range: $30 - $34/hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Shift: Monday - Friday Second shift, 2:00 PM – 11:00PM
• Lead and supervise 15+ hourly production employees in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Manage daily axle assembly operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Monitor production output, staffing, downtime, quality, and operational constraints.
• Review customer production line-ups and ensure the correct production priorities are executed.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure products meet engineering and manufacturing specifications.
• Identify production and quality issues and lead root-cause problem solving to resolve them.
• Manage absenteeism, timekeeping, employee accountability, and workplace concerns in accordance with applicable work rules.
• Address employee conflicts and performance issues professionally and consistently.
• Coach, train, and develop employees while maintaining clear performance expectations.
• Coordinate with Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, and Quality to resolve production disruptions.
• Conduct effective shift handoffs and communicate important production updates to management.
• Prepare and maintain production, quality, and personnel documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and employee engagement.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–7+ years of relevant supervisory experience; candidates with only a high school diploma should have 8+ years of professional supervisory experience.
• Proven automotive manufacturing experience.
• Experience supervising 15 or more employees.
• Experience working in a UAW/union manufacturing environment.
• Strong production-floor leadership and independent decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution and employee-management experience.
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with frontline employees, peers, and management.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing production priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in production,; Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field.
• Experience with assembly operations.
• Experience with production scheduling, quality control, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tools, and maintenance requirements.
• Experience with structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
