Job summary

Plascore in Zeeland, MI seeks an organized technician for a weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 4:30 AM–4:30 PM) with training on first shift (6 AM–3 PM, 6–8 weeks). You will plan production, manage materials, and monitor quality while learning lean practices.

Eligible candidates should have 2–3 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma. Compensation includes a $1,200 sign-on for this role, with ongoing opportunities and company benefits.

Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes work to meet daily production and shipping requirements.
• Maintains inventory of raw materials and ensures timely ordering.
• Monitors product quality to verify specifications and quality of outgoing material.
• Trains new employees and existing staff on techniques with supervisor support.
• Interprets company policies and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications and blueprints; assigns duties.
• Implements lean manufacturing practices on the shop floor.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment; seeks efficiency improvements.

Job Location: 615 N. Fairview Rd. - Zeeland, MI 49464. Position Type: Full Time. Job Shift: Weekend shift. Job Category: Manufacturing.

Friday - Sunday 4:30AM to 4:30PM

Training will be required on 1st shift: Monday - Friday 6AM to 3PM for 6 to 8 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes work to meet daily production and shipping requirements.
• Maintains inventory of required raw materials and ensures that materials are ordered in a timely manner.
• Monitors quality of products to verify conformance to specifications. Controlling and assuring the quality of outgoing material.
• With the support of the production manager and/or supervisor II, trains new employees in job requirements and existing employees on new techniques.
• Assist in interpreting company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Assist in interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
• Assist in creating and modifying manufacturing instructions.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining shop floor practices such as lean manufacturing by utilizing teams.
• Handle internal and external questions in a prompt, professional manner, including order status and contract review.
• Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment and methods.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Continually look for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.
• Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two to three years progressively more responsible experience
• In addition to the knowledge normally acquired through a general high school education, the job requires a specialized skill or knowledge which may be obtained in high school or during a very brief period of intensive preparation outside of school
• Strong attention to detail

Additional Requirements

• Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
