Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Production Manager to lead our client’s food manufacturing plant, driving safety, quality, productivity, and team development. You will oversee line performance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives on the plant floor.

The role requires strong leadership, plant-floor presence, and the ability to build capable teams in a regulated environment to meet production goals and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of food manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years leading supervisors and teams.
• Strong knowledge of BRC, SQF, FDA/USDA, OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

Our client, a well-established food manufacturing operation, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead plant operations with a strong focus on safety, food quality, productivity, and people development.

Requirements & Key Responsibilities:

• Lead production operations with accountability for safety, FSQA, productivity, and cost control
• Ensure compliance with BRC, SQF, FDA/USDA, OSHA, and internal food safety standards
• Manage and develop supervisors through performance reviews, coaching, and engagement initiatives
• Drive improvements in line efficiency, uptime, reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Diagnose and resolve production, equipment, ingredient, and packaging challenges
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to address operational issues
• Set production schedules and align labor resources based on priorities and skill levels
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Required Qualifications:

• 8–10 years of food manufacturing experience
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing supervisors
• Strong knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards (BRC, SQF, FDA/USDA, OSHA)
• Experience using SAP and standard production reporting tools
• Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or related field
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
