Job summary

Durham Exchange Club Industries, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor for the First Shift in Durham, NC. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:15 PM, focusing on safe, quality-driven production and workforce development.

You will lead daily operations, read orders, mentor individuals with disabilities, and ensure accurate paperwork and records. A strong leader with organizational and communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education or vocational training is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, trades, business operations, or a supervisory role.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong math, recordkeeping, proofreading, and quality-checking abilities.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Production Supervisor – First Shift

In this role, you\'ll lead daily production activities, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and mentor team members to achieve both production and vocational goals. If you\'re organized, patient, and passionate about leadership and workforce development, we\'d love to hear from you.

What You\'ll Do

Lead Production Operations
  • Coordinate daily workflow, workstations, and schedules to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Demonstrate and perform production tasks while serving as a role model for workplace professionalism and teamwork.
  • Read and interpret job orders, specifications, shipping/receiving documentation, and production records.
  • Process required production, shipping, and receiving paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Monitor quality standards by inspecting materials, verifying counts, and ensuring accuracy.
Coach and Develop Team Members
  • Train and support individuals with disabilities in job skills, work habits, and workplace expectations.
  • Collaborate with service coordinators to help individuals achieve vocational and behavioral goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback, monitor work performance, and complete production ratings based on quality and productivity.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging work environment.
Promote Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all safety procedures, policies, and quality standards are followed.
  • Provide safety instruction and appropriate protective equipment.
  • Report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Oversee hazardous waste handling and storage procedures in accordance with company guidelines and emergency response protocols.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain attendance records and approve timesheets for assigned team members.
  • Participate in training programs and assist with onboarding and training new staff.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
Additional Responsibilities for Medicaid-Qualified Programs
  • Complete all required service documentation.
  • Maintain required Medicaid-related certifications and training.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform repetitive tasks and motor movements throughout the workday.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities, including emergency restraints when certified and required.
