Job description

Summary : On a day-to-day basis, this position will align Final Assembly resources with materials to meet the Master Production Schedule. This position requires problem solving at a high level to meet delivery requirements for our customers.

Time Utilization : This position may travel up to 2%of the time. Normal business hours are 7 : 00am to 4 : 00pm. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate internal and external customer's schedules and due dates. Supervisor coverage necessary for nights and weekends may be required based on customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned :

  • Executes Master Production Schedule by leading the team to execute the daily schedule, adjusting overtime as necessary to meet the customer needs.
  • Maintains throughput by monitoring steps of the process; setting timing goals; observing hourly output; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating correction to malfunctions within assembly process.
  • Oversee cleaning and organizing throughout each day to keep the assembly department at a showroom level. Creates and maintains an organized work environment using 5S practices. Responsible for outbound item identification of removed items needing storage or disposal.
  • Tracks and documents all KPIs for responsible departments using SAP, including absorption, daily output for each employee, monthly shipments, and monthly counts to ensure on-time delivery or providing feedback on how to achieve the goals
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operation practices, record keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change
  • Maintains safe work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all safety processes and equipment; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational training; reviewing internal safety bulletins and new equipment releases
  • Reviews order details prior to work beginning to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for, performing an early risk analysis
  • Monitors and provides feedback to all associated stakeholders as to any newly discovered risks associated with making the scheduled agreed upon due dates of equipment / components. Adjusts labor workload as needed in order to deliver at the agreed upon date.
  • Executes all Factory Acceptance Tests for all equipment produced at MUUS. Provides resources and assists sales and service with the set-up, running, and tear down to ensure success of the F.A.T.
  • Coordinates in / out movement of machines and components required to fill orders.

Visually confirms that the physical materials required are complete as needed.

  • Confirms all floor work is performed to the factory or correct standards of alignment, seals, tensioning, attaching, marking, testing, safety, documentation and component integrity. Confirms that all items ordered for the machine are inspected, installed and tested on the actual stock machine it is to be used on. Documents testing if items are removed.
  • Confirms documents verifying quality assurance and testing are filled out, sent to the proper contacts and filed for future reference.
  • Creates work procedures for standard activities associated with the stock machine program.
  • Defines, establishes and enhances the roles, goals, and responsibilities for all associates within the department. Ensure that all associates are effectively trained and skill sets match performance requirements. General and specific goals are assessed and reviewed on a consistent basis as a team and individually within department.

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or GED and seven years of manufacturing or equipment service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years lead or supervisory experience in Manufacturing or Production required.

Ability to supervise employees, organize workflows, and execute order deliveries via production schedules in a fast-paced environment required. Must be highly skilled in complex operations and able to comprehend the multifaceted nature of the manufacturing process. Ability to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing costs required.

Language Ability :

Must demonstrate the ability to have clear and precise communication skills of the English language. Verbal and written are necessary to communicate with co-workers, multiple internal departments as well as our international partners. The candidate must be able to lead internal team discussions and have the involvement into global teleconferences involving Manufacturing. Must be able to write understandable procedures, document processes, and progress reports.

Math Ability :

Requires and ability to calculate the available capacity against calculated requirement needs. Calculating of resources to support short and long term planning. Requires the use of advanced measuring techniques. Must possess the ability to calculate percentages, area and volume. Must be able to work in both Metric and English.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to convert component drawings into real finished assemblies. Ability to analyze component drawings and decipher paper prints. Able to define problems, collect date, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to make subjective decisions to positively impact production of required components. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Organization skills and willingness to assume accountability for plant practices required

Computer Skills :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel. Ability to input data and manage daily work requirements using inventory management software, creating, deleting, and editing data required. Working knowledge of SAP preferred.

Certificates and Licenses :

Current valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position. APICs certification a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Directly supervises associates in the Final Assembly . Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
