Daubert Chemical Company is seeking a dedicated 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead daily operations in our batch process facility. You will mentor a team of chemical operators, uphold safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of chemical manufacturing experience required (leadership preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in the production department of a batch process chemical manufacturing facility.
• Lead by example in safety, ensuring work is completed without incident while fostering teamwork and maintaining a regular presence on the plant floor.
• Ensure work is performed according to SOPs, safety guidelines, and ISO 9000 quality standards while applying 5S tools to sustain a clean, organized work environment.
• Complete projects to drive continuous improvement in the department; participate in cross-departmental sub-teams as needed.
• Supervise the performance of a team of chemical operators; mentor and coach the team to develop a high-performance work group.
• Update SOPs, batch instructions and other technical documents to support quality systems and chemical processes.
• Coordinate with other production leaders to review priorities, plan schedules, and manage workflow to ensure uninterrupted production and accurate inventory.
• Measure decisions versus budget restraints and explain deviations.
• Evaluate and document employee performance; collaborate with HR on hiring, promotions, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
• Issue and follow up on maintenance work orders to ensure process reliability.
• Oversee and facilitate employee training on equipment operation, work practices, and safety procedures.

What You Will Do:

• Lead a team in the production department of a batch process chemical manufacturing facility.
• Lead by example in safety, ensuring work is completed without incident while fostering teamwork and maintaining a regular presence on the plant floor. Promptly report injuries, incidents, and near misses to support risk management.
• Ensure work is performed according to SOPs, safety guidelines, and ISO 9000 quality standards while applying 5S tools to sustain a clean, organized work environment.
• Complete projects to drive continuous improvement in the department. Participate in cross‑departmental sub‑teams as needed.
• Supervise the performance of a team of chemical operators in a production department. Mentor and coach the team in order to develop a high‑performance work group.

• Issue and follow up on maintenance work orders for repair to ensure the process is reliable for the operators.
• Oversee and facilitate employee training on equipment operation, work practices, and safety procedures, ensuring completion on time and effectiveness in practice.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of chemical manufacturing experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or other technical discipline is strongly preferred. Prior leadership experience required.

• Understanding processes and mechanics of production line equipment.Ability to learn the chemical operations in a results‑oriented, dynamicplant environment and assume more responsibility over time.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and others. Prior ERP experience and timecard management experience preferred.
• Ability to lead continuous improvement, lead by example and be an on‑shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process.
• Ability to manage, train and develop employees; ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Demonstrated planning and organization skills; proved track record of effect problem solving. Ability to multi‑task and delegate functions.
• Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills with stakeholders across functions.
• Attentive listener along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
