Job Description

Benefits:

Position Hours:

Core hours for this position is from 7pm - 3am. This role willsupport both 2nd and 3rd shiftfrom a leadership perspective.

Salary:

$55,000 - $80,000

Summary:

The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the efforts of the hourly production employees for second shift and third shift focusing on driving safety, quality, and productivity. They ensure that product specifications are met with a high standard of quality. They are responsible to make sure compliance is met with all standards, policies, regulations, and environmentally sound production of a quality product.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for meeting plant and company objectives.
  • Ensuring that we maintain a proper direct to indirect ratio with staff.
  • Perform day-to-day operations on the production floor with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Provide leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention
  • Develop, implement, and enforce operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue
  • Run production lines and machines when employees are absent, or the plant is shorthanded with workers.
  • Assuring conformance of finished product to company, industry, and customer specifications at minimum cost and optimum efficiency.
  • Assisting in directing, teaching, coaching, and training of production employees.
  • Responsible for maintaining shop floor metrics, visual controls, and continuous improvement methods to the manufacturing floor.
  • Supervision of production associates including performance reviews, onboarding, discipline, and terminations.
  • Assist in hiring and training of new employees as needed.
  • Monitoring employee attendance and administering attendance disciplinary action forms when appropriate.
  • Ability to function in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Having in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and improvement processes.
  • Ability to effectively implement change.
  • Possessing knowledge of safety, health, and environmental rules, laws, requirements, and applicable Signode policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by operations manager.
Qualifications

Education:

High School Degree or GED.

Experience:

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform this position's key responsibilities.
