Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Full Time - Salaried Rockford, IL, US

Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually

GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for providing machining and assembly support to all internal and external customers at HT Rockford. The objective is to meet or exceed all our customers’ expectations in a timely, safe, and cost-effective way while continuously improving Safety, Quality, On Time Delivery, and overall Cost.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Effectively utilize the HT Leadership Standards and Lean Principles to create an environment that empowers people to achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain and improve communication between shifts to enable seamless execution.
  • Manage a process of continuous improvement of safety, quality, and delivery, to improve cost and customer satisfaction. Suggest and implement waste elimination wherever possible.
  • Establish and maintain lean manufacturing and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement goals, objectives, and measurements with team members to support the operating plan…track visually on KPI boards.
  • Match employee skills with production needs to maximize resource utilization, maintain quality standards and productivity requirements. Be nimble and think on your feet.
  • Develop and implement problem solving tools such as 5 why and root cause countermeasures to eliminate issues permanently.
  • Manage the Performance Management System and salary administration program.
  • Establish and maintain operating budget for the department.
  • Administer policies and procedures timely and consistently to maintain high employee morale.
  • Model and promote Leadership Standards to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to achieve business goals.
  • Constantly cross-train your team to be flexible to meet customer and company needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • BS degree in Business or Engineering or related experience is required.
  • A minimum of three years related experience and supervision in a manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The working conditions described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the principal duties and responsibilities of the job. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area which, under certain conditions, requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. The temperature of the primary work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided.
