Position Summary
This position is responsible for fostering a safe work environment by demonstrating integrity, trust, and ethical conduct at all times. It involves daily operations management in Roll Label - Coating (all value-added activities) and supporting all departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees adhere to work rules and safety policies, applying OSHA and MACtac safety guidelines, conducting incident investigations, and maintaining housekeeping standards.
- Establish a strong presence on the floor to communicate expectations, standards, and evaluate results.
- Manage responsibilities in accordance with company policies, including overseeing training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and ensuring accurate timecard approval.
- Lead and coach operators, teams, and support functions to produce quality products safely and efficiently.
- Support staffing needs, including scheduling and administering time off.
- Review production schedules to meet priorities and maximize effectiveness.
- Conduct employee training sessions on safety, SOPs, and housekeeping; coach troubleshooting skills.
- Report daily shift performance against KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, and more.
- Manage department projects for effectiveness and implementation.
- Maintain inventory levels of plant supplies.
- Monitor fill rate efficiencies and initiate corrections as needed.
- Serve as a technical resource for goal formulation, performance feedback, SOPs, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate company messages, address employee questions and concerns.
- Handle employee issues, support employment law compliance, and work with HR.
- Use payroll systems to verify punches and attendance.
- Travel less than 5% as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned; maintain regular attendance.
Scope
- Shift: 2nd (Monday-Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm)
- Department: Facility
- Physical requirements include exposure to manufacturing environment, potential heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, and use of PPE.
- Reports to: Production Manager
- Location: Spartanburg, SC
- Travel: up to 5%
Selection Criteria
- Minimum HS diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of professional experience, including supervisory roles.
- Experience with web handling, coating equipment, adhesives, labeling, or related industries preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the US; no visa sponsorship available.
