Job summary

SK Services, LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor for a temporary six-month contract at a manufacturing facility in Leeds, AL. The role runs on the 2nd shift, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $35/hr.

There is potential for the position to become permanent based on performance and business needs. The incumbent will oversee daily production processes and supervise hourly staff, driving continuous improvement while managing productivity, safety, quality and cost

Responsibilities

• Lead teams focused on safety, quality, service and productivity within budgets.
• Direct lead persons to guide and assign work and maintain records.
• Ensure hourly workforce is flexible and properly trained.
• Handle disciplinary activity and labor relations coordination with other supervisors.
• Maintain data and reports using Excel and Access.

Our client is a manufacturing facility for a global electrical and utility-equipment company. It focuses on foundry and secondary operations – including metallurgy, machining, fabrication and assembly of components used in electrical infrastructure.

Position Overview: Oversee daily production processes as well as supervise hourly employees while pursuing continuous improvement in areas such productivity increases, improving effectivity while minimizing cost.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead teams that are focused on the primary purposes of daily operation through safety, quality, service, and productivity levels within budgetary guidelines
• Direct lead persons to guide, direct, and assign work to their fellow employees and maintain records as necessary
• Ensure hourly workforce is flexible and properly trained
• Must handle the interpersonal aspect of the job including disciplinary activity, coordination with other supervisors, work rule enforcement, and labor relations
• Maintenance of data and reports related to the supervised area using Microsoft applications such as Excel and Access
