Job summary

SelectOne is recruiting for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor for a manufacturing client in Buffalo, NY. The role leads daily production operations from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, guiding a team to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets under the Plant Manager’s supervision.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in manufacturing with supervisory experience, strong leadership, and knowledge of lean manufacturing. This is a full-time position offering opportunities for process improvement and career

Qualifications

• 7+ years of manufacturing experience, including supervisory or leadership roles.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
• Ability to interpret production schedules, technical drawings, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production personnel to meet production schedules and on-time delivery commitments.
• Ensure and enforce compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while leading safety meetings, observations, and incident investigations.
• Track, analyze, and report key performance metrics including output, labor efficiency, overtime, downtime, scrap, and rework.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams to resolve production issues and drive process improvements.
• Maintain and enforce quality standards and promptly address production and quality concerns.
• Train, coach, and develop production employees; conduct performance evaluations and assist with corrective or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing, 5S, root cause analysis, and process improvement activities across the production floor.
• Ensure standard work, work instructions, and operating procedures are followed and maintained.
• Support audits, inspections, and customer or regulatory requirements as applicable.
