We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Plano, TX! If you are wanting to expand your career in the printing industry, with an organization that is experiencing steady and rapid growth, this could be the role for you!

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00pm-6:30am

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of press operators by performing the following duties:

  • Inspects plates, web and other materials to be used in producing a job to verify conformance to specifications and is responsible for verifying match of jobs to job specs.
  • Checks production schedule and verifies plates, inks and other required materials are available in advance of an order going to a Press Operator.
  • Directs setup and adjustments of presses with high attention to detail.
  • Consistently maintains equipment and may make minor repairs when necessary.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Holds a strong understanding of company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders for workers and assigns duties, establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Responsible for implementing and following Lean Manufacturing procedures and is a member of one or more Lean manufacturing development and implementation committees.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and/or reduce setup time, equipment downtime and production scrap.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals and provides training and guidance.
  • Trains new Press Operators on proper and safe use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintains production records in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Confers with other members of the management team to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised as needed.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises personnel in the Press and Finishing departments.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience of at least two years, with a successful track record for leading teams.
  • Five plus years of production experience in a manufacturing environment. Printing, packaging or similar industry experience is required.
  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and management.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance; loads over 50 pounds require the use of mechanical devices or other personnel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
