Job summary

Ferrara is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor in Fairfield to lead daily coaching of production workers, ensure safety and sanitation, and coordinate with cross-functional teams on schedules and quality goals.

You will analyze workflows, monitor time records, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a positive, collaborative shop floor culture to meet ambitious production targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business discipline preferred or 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience directing employees and operations in the food industry or related manufacturing industry.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and enforce safety and sanitary standards on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Inspects products to verify conformance and directs machine setup/adjustments.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements.
• Communicates company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Provides input to establish work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Suggests changes to working conditions and equipment to increase efficiency.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists workers.
• Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities.
• Administers production/time records using company computer systems.

Due to the highly interactive nature of this manufacturing position, in-person attendance and flexibility are essential for supporting production schedules, effective communication and collaboration, real-time problem solving, and participation in cross-functional initiatives. Schedules may vary and are subject to change.

Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers by performing daily coaching and mentoring within this food production environment. Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition. Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position. The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned. The employee must also possess the ability to take direction, follow instructions, work with others, follow work rules and schedules, and focus on details. Primary tools utilized are computerized requiring specific vocational training or experience in the operation of PC-type "networked" computer applications.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $75,000-$85,000 annually.
