Job summary

ACS Group in New Berlin, WI is seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to run custom manufacturing and assembly lines with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

The candidate will direct and manage assembly activities, maintain metrics, schedule daily work, ensure OSHA/ISO compliance, and develop training for new hires while leading a motivated team to meet on-time delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business is required or 2+ years equivalent experience with strong supervisory background.
• Strong supervisory skills in engineered product environments and proven leadership abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels and functions.
• Ability to analyze data, identify improvements, and implement training programs for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage assembly area manufacturing activities to achieve plant objectives and goals.
• Direct the manufacturing of all products to established quality, functionality, and lead time specifications for on-time delivery.
• Maintain metrics, expectations, and accountability for direct reports.
• Measure productivity, labor efficiency, and other internal performance metrics.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and enforce OSHA/ISO compliance.
• Schedule daily work activities and maintain a safe, clean facility; ensure training for employee protection.
• Provide a motivational team environment and lead projects to improve productivity.

ACS Group is a privately held company that designs and manufactures comprehensive lines of auxiliary products for the plastics processing industry. ACS Group maintains an expansive product line, which includes size reduction equipment (granulators and shredders), material conveying equipment, metering and blending devices, heat exchangers (mold temperature control units and chillers), drying systems, and presses. These products are marketed under such recognizable brand names as AEC, Sterling, Cumberland, Wabash and Carver.

Manufacturing facilities are located in New Berlin, Wisconsin and Wabash, Indiana with a third facility located Suzhou,China to handle the needs of the Asian market.

A successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Direct and manage assembly area manufacturing activities to achieve plant objectives and goals
• Direct the manufacturing of all products consistent with established specifications for quality, functionality and lead time to attain on-time delivery goals
• Maintain metrics, expectations and accountabilities of direct reports
• Measure internal performance metrics such as productivity, labor efficiencies
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Ensure all rule and practices are adhered to such as to ensure a safe manufacturing and operating environment
• Schedule daily work activities
• Maintain a clean and overall safe facility, ensuring procedures are being followed as expected and training carried out for the protection of each employee and the company
• Assures compliance is consistent with OSHA, ISO and other regulatory agencies
• Enforce company General Manufacturing Practices and procedures to ensure all employees in their area are following guidelines and are regularly being trained as per company requirements
• Maintains high quality standards for all goods with a continuous focus on providing outstanding customer service
• Provides a motivational team environment
• Work on projects as assigned, such as improving productivity, developing training programs for new hires
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business and/or 2+ years of equivalent experience
• Strong supervisory skills needed in an engineered product, low volume, high mix environment
• Good mechanical aptitude, inclination, experienceand interest
• Machining knowledge a plus
• Large electro/mechanical equipment knowledge is a plus
• Good problem solver with the ability to analyze data
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functional areas
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations
