We are looking for a proactive and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing operations in a Lean-driven environment. This role oversees the production of electrical wire harnesses, control panels, and PCBs, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Lean Manufacturing principles, team leadership, and technical knowledge of electrical assembly processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily production activities across wire harness, control panel, and PCB assembly lines.
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, Visual Displays, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
- Monitor production KPIs (output, quality, downtime, scrap) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure that materials and supplies are available for production as needed.
- Develop and maintain the production schedule, ensuring that deadlines are met and adjusting as necessary to meet changing demands.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues and optimize workflow. Support new product introductions and process validations.
- Train and mentor production staff on standard work, safety, and Lean tools.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for production staff, provide constructive feedback and identify areas for growth and development.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, labor, and material usage.
- Lead daily Gemba walks and participate in cross-functional improvement projects.
- Resolve personal issues by analyzing, investigating & identifying issues and recommending actions to the Director of Operations and Human Resources.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring and training of new production staff members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelors degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field but not required.
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in electrical assembly.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Skills:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certification.
- Experience with automated assembly equipment and testing tools.
- Hands-on experience with ESD-safe practices and soldering techniques.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and electrical components.
- Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required.
- Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
