Department Supervisor - Printing & Converting position available with our client in Tyler, TX who is a leading manufacturer!

Direct hire opportunity with a salary range of $70k to $74k. Client company benefits available. 2nd shift position: 7 PM - 7 AM, 4 days on / 3 days off (rotating).

Are you ready to take charge and make an impact? Our client is looking for a motivated leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of their Printing and Converting Department. In this key role, you’ll ensure smooth operations, inspire your team, and help drive our success under the guidance of the Printing Manager or Converting Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Problem-Solver: Help operators troubleshoot and apply best practices to keep operations efficient.
• Team Motivator: Energize and inspire your team to meet and exceed production targets.
• Efficiency Expert: Ensure quick and seamless changeovers that meet or beat established targets.
• Training: Coach and train employees on standard operating procedures to boost efficiency.
• Safety: Promote safety, lead safety meetings, and ensure compliance with protocols.
• People Management: Approve vacations, manage overtime, and handle employee relations with HR support.

Management Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct shift operators to maintain production flow.
• Guide team adherence to company policies and compliance.
• Participate in hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, QA, and Operations departments for smooth operations.

Collaborations:

• Operators for quality and performance.
• Maintenance team for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Quality Assurance for product standards.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; Technical or Engineering degree preferred.
• At least 3 years in manufacturing, preferably in similar industry.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of flexographic printing preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with industrial equipment.
• Detail-oriented with organizational and managerial skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Requirements:

• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Ability to work safely around machinery.
• Comfortable using computers and phones to connect with the team.
