Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating production operations to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role is critical in executing production schedules, driving team performance, and ensuring departmental objectives are achieved in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise production staff and daily operations to meet quality and schedule requirements.
Execute the daily production plan and coordinate workflow across shifts.
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Monitor and analyze operational metrics to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Train, mentor, and evaluate employees; provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed.
Enforce company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Materials.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, 5S implementation, and JBPCO’s 6S program.
Ensure adequate tools, materials, and staffing are available for production requirements.
Perform administrative tasks including performance reviews, scheduling, and requisitions.
Lead and support departmental projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Knowledge of metal fabrication equipment , powder coating, or packaging processes is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with J.D. Edwards (ERP) preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and use precision measuring tools.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a dynamic, team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business , Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
History of rapid progression and team leadership in manufacturing settings.
Strong sense of urgency and accountability with a proactive, hands-on leadership style.
Working Conditions
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, and handling of materials or tools.
Occasional travel may be required .
