Job summary

Thermon is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations at the San Marcos, TX site. The role requires strong people leadership to motivate and develop a team while driving safety, quality, and operational targets.

Responsibilities include managing production schedules, coordinating resources, and monitoring performance metrics to implement continuous improvement initiatives. Must be able to work a Monday–Friday on-site schedule and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies are advantageous.
  • Experience with ERP or production management systems is desirable.

  • Oversee day-to-day production activities to meet schedules, quality standards, and efficiency targets.
  • Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resources in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
  • Monitor production metrics (throughput, downtime, scrap, OEE) and take corrective actions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of production employees and foster a safety‑first culture.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and manufacturing best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive quality assurance by meeting specifications and regulatory requirements.

Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced industrial environment to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets are met. This role requires a strong people leader who can motivate, develop, and manage a team while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Onsite). 100 Thermon Dr. San Marcos, TX.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure schedules, quality standards, and efficiency targets are achieved
  • Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resources to meet production demands in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Monitor production performance metrics (e.g., throughput, downtime, scrap, OEE) and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing best practices
People Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of production employees, including training, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-first work culture
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and feedback sessions
  • Address employee relations issues in partnership with HR, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to environmental and regulatory standards
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, maintenance, quality) to optimize production processes
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure products meet all quality specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with the quality team to investigate and resolve production issues
  • Drive accountability for quality at all levels of the production team
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field)
  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and driving performance
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and operational metrics
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, or overtime as needed
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with ERP or production management systems

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25‑50 pounds, with or without assistance
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs or ladders as needed
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, dust, and machinery
  • Visual acuity to monitor production processes, read documents/screens, and identify safety or quality issues
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel‑toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, and other safety gear
  • Capability to respond quickly to emergency situations and maintain situational awareness in a fast‑paced setting
