Job description

SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating activities that support the production of Kollmorgen products. This position manages a team of associates daily and ensures the achievement of short-term and long-term goals aligned with the company's strategy. Key focus areas include safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and inventory management. The role is based in Radford, VA, and Kollmorgen is part of Altra (AIMC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily:

1. Establish production and quality control standards, develop budgets and cost controls, and gather data on product types, quantities, specifications, and delivery schedules, aligning with business objectives.
2. Plan and direct production activities, setting priorities for manufacturing processes.
3. Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to optimize resource utilization.
4. Review operational data to identify causes of nonconformity and production issues.
5. Implement and support Lean Manufacturing principles across all production areas.
6. Adjust production schedules and priorities as needed due to equipment failures or other issues.
7. Manage the performance of direct reports, including development, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
8. Achieve area and cell metrics, and implement corrective actions to meet goals.

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform this job:

• Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience; lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills are required.
• Proven ability to deliver results and meet targets.
• Ability to work well with others and lead teams.
