Job summary

Mondi Group in Pennsylvania is seeking a proactive production supervisor to lead day-to-day operations, ensuring safety, quality and productivity on the shift. You will supervise staff, manage direct labor costs, and coordinate with the plant Manager to optimize performance.

The role requires strong communication, GMP compliance, and a commitment to Lean/Six Sigma principles, with mentoring and performance reviews of operators. We offer a collaborative environment and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.

• Address downtime issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate expectations on shift and prepare shift reports.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate operators; conduct performance evaluations.
• Enforce company policies and GMPs; document non-compliance.
• Review product quality and sign off for each production run.

Job description

• Supervise employees in the day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity
• Maintain and improve production throughout and work with their Manager to maintain direct labor cost
• Ensure compliance with established run speeds
• Ensure compliance with established set up time
• Address mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues with department
• Provide support for on the job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives
• Clearly communicate expectations to employees on shift
• Review product quality and complete product sign off for each production run and any necessary checks during the run
• Maintain all required logs and reporting documents and adhere to all safety regulations, procedures and policies
• Prepare shift reports as required to show performance and explain issues during the shift for equipment not meeting performance
• Participate in shift handoff meetings to discuss relevant information for your shift and also to discuss shift performance
• Train, motivate, and mentor employees (both new and existing employees)
• Conduct performance evaluations for all new hires (bi-monthly) and Operators (monthly)
• Enforces Company policies, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Polices (GMPs) by ensuring employees understand and follow rules, addresses non-compliance on the shift it occurs, and documents issues for further action
• Maintain a positive working environment among employees
• Monitors Report offs and fills vacancy
• Reviews, updates, and approves shifts’ timecards daily in ADP
• Participate in Meetings to review monthly performance for shift and plant

• 3 years supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience
• 2+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other relevant continuous improvement methods preferred
• Technical Training preferred
• Industrial Safety Training preferred
