Job summary

Cellofoam North America Inc. is seeking a floor-based supervisor to hire, lead and support manufacturing employees. The role requires daily mobility, knowledge of operations and equipment, and a focus on safety, quality and productivity to meet company standards.

Qualified applicants will have 1–3 years in manufacturing management, good communication, and the ability to train others while maintaining productivity and proper documentation on shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; leadership manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and blueprints; strong communication and coaching skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, team building, and safety commitment on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Direct and lead production employees; assign duties and monitor KPI targets daily.
• Ensure safety, quality, and productivity on assigned operations.
• Complete daily production reports and shift paperwork; coordinate with other departments.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and coach staff to improve performance.
• Operate and verify equipment setup; troubleshoot and resolve issues on the floor.

Essential Position Requirements (include But Are Not Limited To)

• Directing employees including the assigning of job duties, ensuring KPI’s are met and recorded daily. Supporting and ensuring product being produced meets Cellofoam Quality specifications and requirements. The completion of daily production reports and shift paperwork as required.
• General understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
• Supervise and verify equipment set-up prior to start of a production run, ability to operate and shut down manufacturing equipment.
• Verify order information and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet specific job requirements while meeting productivity standards.
• Ensuring machine start up, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Coaching, developing, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Perform other production duties as requested by supervisor.
• Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve issues.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others.
• Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding plant or employee concerns.
• Maintain a working knowledge and is in full compliance with corporate standards for business conduct and Federal anti-trust laws.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Associate Degree or equivalent leadership manufacturing experience

• Mechanical: General Knowledge of machinery and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Ability to use and articulate measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, weigh scales)
• Quality Control and Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Position Requirements And Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of prior experience in manufacturing management environment
• Organizational, communication and team building skills

Software Skills Required

• Computer proficiency
• Ability to read and understand CAD and blueprints preferred

Other Information

• Flexibility in working hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Floor production position – working in production environment majority of time
• Overtime work may be required.
