Job summary

SeaCast, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee production activities in investment casting. Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $40.00/hr

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing production activities in investment casting. This reports to the Operations Manager. Your goal will be to increase operational efficiency, communication, and ensure a safe environment.

  • Provides additional safety and production training, as needed.
  • Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departments.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with operations manager on priorities and deliverables.
  • Establishes successful processes for departmental workflow.
  • Works with departments lead to ensure coordination of departmental activities.
  • Drives and implements continuous process improvements.
  • Identifies process abnormalities or inefficiencies then addresses those problems by determining and implementing appropriate changes.
  • Evaluate and provide performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient workflow processes to the operations manager.
  • Collaborate on processes that would provide a clean and safe work environment.
  • Interrupts processes, shutting down and restarting equipment and production in emergencies and when maintenance, repairs, or replacements are required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and precision investment casting processes through previous experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record utilizing lean manufacturing leadership principles.
  • Thorough understanding of equipment used in departmental production practices.
  • A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills is a must.
  • Understand strategic planning, scheduling, and capacity management concepts in relation to inventory practices.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Epicor experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Supply Chain, Process Engineering, or Business Management.
  • One to Three years’ experience in manufacturing management and/or Production Control.
  • One to Three years' experience in a supervisor role of five people or more.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk, stand, stoop, and traverse on concrete and uneven ground.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
