Job summary

CRH's Oldcastle division in Lyndhurst, NJ, is seeking a production supervisor to oversee plant operations, maintenance, and the safety of the workforce, ensuring uninterrupted production of top-quality precast and infrastructure products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry and general office experience.
• Knowledge of construction products, computers, basic accounting, and inventory.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing/production plants preferred.
• Employee management experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assemble schematic drawings.
• Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise plant operations, maintenance and staff for uninterrupted production of top-quality products.
• Maintain safety rules and proper housekeeping of the plant.
• Set production goals and manage schedules to meet demand.
• Analyze scorecards and production reports to optimize performance.
• Oversee yard/warehouse personnel and related activities.
• Hire, train, promote and discipline employees.
• Plan and manage raw materials and finished goods inventory with production schedules.
• Oversee materials replenishment, quality standards and cost controls.
• Direct maintenance and repair of machinery by electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions and monitor equipment performance.
• Interpret policies to ensure a safe work environment.
• Plan and implement routine and preventative maintenance procedures.

Job Summary

With safety as a primary responsibility, this Supervisor is responsible for supervising overall plant operations, maintenance and employees to ensure non-stop production of top-quality products.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety rules are followed
• Set production goals and expectation
• Ensure proper housekeeping of the plant
• Analyze scorecards and production reports

• Adjust employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage of shifts

• Oversee materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics, while controlling operational costs and identifying cost-reduction opportunities
• Maintain accurate documentation, report production hours, and monitor employee timekeeping, ensuring compliance with policies and tracking overtime
• Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
• Assist and direct workers in diagnosis of malfunctions in equipment and machinery
• Observe mechanical devices and equipment to determine proper functioning or identify causes of trouble
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
• Interprets company policies and safety regulations to ensure compliance and safe work environment
• Plan and implement a schedule of routine and preventative maintenance procedures and assign and monitor personnel
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements
