Job summary

NOVO Health Services is seeking a First Shift Production Supervisor to lead frontline production operations, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and people development. You will supervise 20–60 hourly associates, including temps, and drive a strong safety culture while delivering consistent service to healthcare partners.

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives on floor presence, coaching, and achieving results in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
  • Coach and develop production associates to boost engagement and teamwork.
  • Enforce OSHA and Novo safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safety-first culture and address hazards proactively.
  • Ensure schedules are met while optimizing labor and workflow.
  • Monitor product quality to meet Novo and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance/Quality/Leadership to improve performance.
  • Support onboarding, training, and performance management.

Position Summary

The First Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for leading frontline production operations while executing plant objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and people development. This role provides direct leadership to 20–60 hourly associates, including full-time and temporary employees, and is accountable for building a strong safety culture, driving performance, and ensuring consistent service to our healthcare partners.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a supervisor who enjoys being present on the floor, developing people, and driving results in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Lead daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production associates to promote engagement, accountability, and teamwork
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and Novo standards
  • Maintain a strong safety-first culture and proactively address hazards and unsafe behaviors
  • Ensure production schedules are met while optimizing labor utilization and workflow efficiency
  • Monitor quality standards to ensure products meet Novo and customer requirements
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Plant Leadership to address operational issues and improve performance
  • Support onboarding, training, and performance management of production staff
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and coverage planning
  • Track and communicate key production and safety metricsSupport standard work, audits, and compliance initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a production supervision or industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production processes, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Proven experience leading hourly teams and supporting employee development
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
