BAE Systems is seeking a 1st shift Production Supervisor for our Louisville, KY facility, specifically to support our Naval submarine value stream. This role is pivotal as it involves direct management of touch labor and providing primary leadership to the production team for the assigned shift. The Value Stream Supervisor will act as the primary program point of contact for the assigned shift, ensuring effective leadership in the day‑to‑day execution of production activities. In this position, you will oversee the overall manufacturing process, working closely with manufacturing engineering, production planning, and quality control to ensure that production schedules are met. You will be responsible for planning and directing the activities of the manufacturing team, setting clear expectations and goals that emphasize safety, quality, schedule adherence, and delivery. Additionally, you will organize production processes and ensure the availability of necessary resources to facilitate smooth operations. A key aspect of your role will be to assess and apply various measures, methods, and techniques aimed at improving safety, product quality, efficiency, productivity, and overall equipment and process performance. You will work proactively with the management team to align site efforts and project initiatives with business needs and strategic direction, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety and continuous quality improvement. Furthermore, you will monitor the financial performance of your department to ensure that targets are being met, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 5+ years or more progressive work experience or equivalent experience with fabrication, welding, assembly, electrical wiring, or machining.
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with management and employees at all levels, customers, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data analysis, identify areas for improvement, and drive focused actions to initiate change.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and lead collaboratively in a cross‑functional team environment with salaried and union hourly personnel to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to lead teams and drive Lean / continuous improvement culture.
  • Ability to understand, prioritize, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Ability to work independently and be effective in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience hosting audits in manufacturing environment, root cause and corrective action methods and project management for implementing new methodologies to resolve systemic issues.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4+ years minimum of management experience.
  • 5+ years manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with 6s, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen concepts.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $92,180 - $156,707. This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
