Hours are 10am to 6 pm

First level of supervisory role on the production plant floor. Responsible for the daily operations of the production team and individual performance, including safety, productivity, and quality.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Provides daily instruction to team leaders and plant associates to ensure smooth production of quality products. Conducts shift communication meetings with the team at the start of their shift. Oversees all work centers based on shift.
2. Controls flow & schedule of work to meet customer volume/schedules. Maintains attendance records by tracking, reviewing, and approving time off/hours worked. Monitors working hours and approves overtime; communicates mandated overtime.
3. Prepares end-of-shift reports for KPIs/other metrics such as OEE, Scrap, Downtime, Attendance, and other requests.
4. Reports major/re-occurring issues to the Coordinator or other leaders; assists with root cause analysis and definition of countermeasures.
5. Checks the quality of product being produced at work centers and quality of raw materials, racks, and operations during and throughout the production process. Takes corrective actions as needed.
6. Trains associates and ensures all team members have the necessary skills & abilities to perform their jobs; provides new hire training and follow-up as needed.
7. Promotes a strong safety mindset and enforces safety throughout the plant; supports Behavioral Based Safety programs and participates in other safety, environmental, and health initiatives.
8. Manages team performance: evaluates, gives daily feedback to all members, including team leaders and workers. Takes action on disciplinary and performance issues, working with HR. Motivates the team to ensure high productivity and engagement. Counsels subordinates to prevent issues in conjunction with HR.
9. Partners with maintenance team on issues/concerns, and ensures ongoing maintenance of machines and related processes, ensuring equipment is functional and meets safety standards.
10. Performs cycle counts, process reviews, and inventory counts, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance.
11. Conducts face-to-face meetings with outgoing and incoming supervisors to pass relevant safety, quality, production, or maintenance information. Overtime may be required.
12. Enforces safety standards, programs, and proper PPE at all times; trains staff on safety and assists with implementation of safety programs. Ensures all work areas meet 5S standards.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, or the equivalent. Associates’ degree preferred.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
