Job description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Production Supervisor to assist with operational activities at our Smyrna and Lebanon, Tennessee quarry operations just outside Nashville, Tennessee. This role includes safety leadership, production management, and plant/mobile equipment maintenance.

• Responsible for training and development of the team, scheduling, performance management, and effective leadership of the hourly workforce.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises up to 9 direct reports.

Work Environment

This role operates frequently in an operations and maintenance environment at a surface mine location. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are routinely used.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and tasting or smelling. Occasionally, the employee must lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position requiring long hours and weekend work.

Occasional travel is required.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work/military experience.
• 2+ years of experience in aggregate operations (preferred).
• Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a mining environment (preferred).
