Job summary

Jergens, Inc. is seeking a 3rd shift supervisor to oversee CNC machining and assembly operations. You will lead a manufacturing team, schedule workflow, and drive quality, safety, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

The role supports a 4x10 schedule with a 3-day weekend. Candidates should have at least 3 years in supervision within CNC machining, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory or leadership experience in a CNC machining department.
  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing policies, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the manufacturing team within company policies to meet objectives and customer expectations.
  • Plan work and coordinate workflow to balance quality, productivity, costs, safety and morale.
  • Train the manufacturing team and resolve production issues.
  • Hire, train, direct, motivate, evaluate and reward staff to meet manufacturing objectives and address performance issues.
  • Maintain inventory levels and adjust schedules to meet delivery timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor performance and ensure proper housekeeping and safety practices.

This opportunity is overseeing our CNC Machining and Assembly Operations on 3rd Shift.

Reports to: Production Manager

Responsibilities

  • Has a thorough understanding of our company’s policies, procedures, processes, equipment and capabilities to serve our customers. Leads the manufacturing team within established company policies and procedures to meet company objectives and customer expectations.
  • Plans work, makes assignments and coordinates work flow to balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to meet manufacturing objectives and customer delivery expectations. Maintains proper inventory levels. Adjusts the schedule as necessary.
  • Trains the manufacturing team, and serves as a resource to manufacturing employees in resolving production issues.
  • Hires, trains, directs, motivates, evaluates and rewards the manufacturing team to meet the company’s manufacturing objectives. Takes corrective action as necessary to correct performance issues.
  • Maintain an awareness of any production issues needing personal involvement to resolve. Collaborates effectively with customers and internal support resources to respond to production issues.
  • Manages performance, reviews and disciplines employees, as needed consistent with company policies and procedures, and in compliance with government laws and regulations.
  • Establishes a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.
  • Monitor performance to ensure that the manufacturing team maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.
  • Monitor performance to ensure that the manufacturing team practices good housekeeping and safety habits and supports and follows company policies.
  • Performs accident investigations when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of Supervisory or Leadership experience in a CNC Machining Department.
  • High school education is required. At least some college education in a related field is preferred. Has the necessary training to be proficient in the position.
