Job summary

Jergens, Inc. is a Cleveland, OH-based manufacturer seeking an experienced Training & Development leader to design and manage multi-functional training programs.

This role focuses on technical skills, compliance, and leadership growth across its manufacturing units. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in training within manufacturing, strong organizational and communication skills, and a hands-on approach to program management, vendor coordination, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required or preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of training and development experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience designing and coordinating training programs and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training strategies aligned with company goals and manufacturing operations.
  • Deliver and coordinate trainings for technical skills, compliance, and leadership development.
  • Manage documentation for employee certifications and training records.
  • Identify training needs with managers and assess program effectiveness.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $115,000.00 Annually

Reports to: Senior HR Manager
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training strategies aligned with organizational goals and manufacturing operations.
  • Deliver and coordinate trainings needed for technical skills, compliance, and leadership development. Will occasionally be responsible for designing and facilitating trainings unrelated to technical knowledge.
  • Determines appropriateness of contracting with outside vendors to accomplish training goals and objectives.
  • Identify individual and group training needs in partnership with managers.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of our company policies, procedures, ISO/AS9100 certification requirements, and training needs.
  • Manage training records and ensure accurate documentation of employee certifications and qualifications.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for employees and managers for training needs, schedules and completion status.
Program Management
  • Owns all aspects of ToolingU training program.
  • Submit TechCred and other training program grant applications, track progress, manage reimbursement, etc.
  • Research various training options, instructors, and content; maintain an organized log of training contacts, resources, and information.
  • Monitors training budget and maintain accurate expense records and reports.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using metrics and continuous improvements methods. Present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Conducts trainer observations and monitors trainer performance and effectiveness.
  • Identify operational changes or industry developments that signal a training opportunity.
  • Keep training materials current, accurate, and effective.
Cross functional Collaboration
  • Partner with HR to ensure job descriptions align with training needs and programs.
  • Works with operations and general management to address training needs.
  • Maintains positive, consistent, and effective communication with staff, peers, and management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant training and development experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough understanding of training processes, methods, and effective evaluation.
  • Ability to moderate large groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Displays a positive, professional, and service-oriented manner at all times.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented with effective time management skills with proven success with prioritizing and addressing multiple demands.
  • Able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Able to effectively communicate, build relationships, and present ideas to meet achieve company training objectives.
  • Ability to work ethically and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office programs and quick to pick up on company systems and platforms.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.
