The Production Shift Leader is responsible for leading operations and personnel within a rotating shift environment. This role requires understanding customer needs for growth and success, and managing shift operations to enhance safety, engagement, cost efficiency, productivity, quality, and customer service.

Operations Leader
Span of Control:
25-35 Hourly Production Associates
Schedule:
Rotating 12 Hour shifts
Job Responsibilities
- Live the Safety standard (20%)
• Coordinate safety training.
• Lead monthly safety requirements.
• Educate team on safe operations.
• Communicate Owens Corning’s safety stance.
• Report and investigate safety incidents to identify root causes and resolve them. - Achieve customer satisfaction and quality commitments (25%)
• Communicate customer expectations.
• Ensure timely, accurate production meeting schedules.
• Follow operational procedures to meet product specifications and quality metrics.
• Conduct root cause analysis on quality issues and resolve them.
• Train and coach operators in problem-solving. - Execute Plant’s TPM Plan (15%)
• Understand and drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Lead Autonomous Maintenance (AM) teams.
• Lead and participate in FI Projects.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
• Communicate TPM expectations. - Lead and develop talent (20%)
• Enforce policies and procedures.
• Provide regular feedback.
• Build effective work teams.
• Maintain documentation and track performance.
• Review and modify training plans. - Achieve Plant cost targets (20%)
• Minimize variation and waste using standard work.
• Implement productivity initiatives.
• Drive waste reduction.
• Use resources efficiently.
• Engage team members in productivity efforts.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Experience in making decisions in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency with computer programs and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Manufacturing or industrial experience.
- Union experience.
- Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement exposure.
