Job summary

US Brick is hiring a Production Supervisor in Alabama to lead hourly production staff, uphold safety and quality standards, and drive productivity improvements. The role reports to the Assistant Plant Manager in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will coordinate daily production activities, develop talent, monitor performance, and collaborate with other departments to optimize plant operations and costs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Able to perform various forms of physical labor.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Read, write, use a computer, and perform basic math to record data.

Description

At US Brick, we are looking for team member who has a roll up the sleeves and get it done in a safe, efficient, and thoughtful manner work ethic.

US Brick has a current vacancy to join our diverse and dynamic company as a Production Supervisor. This role will report directly to the Assistant Plant Manager.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and supervise hourly production employees to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production activities by effectively allocating personnel, equipment, materials, and other resources.
  • Coach, mentor, train, and develop employees to improve performance, build future talent, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production performance and analyze line effectiveness to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, equipment reliability, product quality, and operating costs.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide regular feedback, address employee concerns, and support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement and change initiatives that enhance plant operations and team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and applicable safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while actively promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Help identify and coordinate maintenance repairs and projects within your department
  • Participate in production, shift, and operational meetings, complete required documentation, and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Collaborate with other leaders and departments to solve problems, improve processes, and achieve plant and company objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The required skills and education to be successful:

  • High school or equivalent required
  • Able to perform various form of physical labor (i.e lifting 50 lbs/ standing continuously)
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Read, write, utilize a computer, and basic math to record data correctly
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Must be very flexible with time, sometimes this means coming in at all times of the night or day
    Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Committed to working in a zero-harm workplace
  • Able to work flexible hours when needed

Work is performed primarily in a standard manufacturing setting.

Production facilities are not climate controlled, and work is outdoors and indoors in all types of weather conditions and work environments.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for extended lengths of time (i.e. flagging operations), walk, sit for extended lengths of time (i.e. operating equipment), drive, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, grasp, hold, and manipulate tools; talk and hear. The employee is routinely required to climb (i.e. ladders and stairs) and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or stand on tip toes for extended lengths of time, and must routinely lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds alone, and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without ocular aids. The employee must be able to work in variable temperatures and weather conditions and near traffic with varying noise levels and with varying types of equipment and vehicles. The employee must have the ability to work around and tolerate heat and dust.

While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is regularly exposed to outside elements of wet and/or humid conditions, rain, and heat; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. Requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather. The incumbent may occasionally work with electrical devices and exposed to vibrations and steady level of loud noises.
