Job summary

South Bay Solutions, Inc. in California seeks an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead our high-mix, precision contract manufacturing operation.

You will ensure safety, quality, on-time delivery, and operational excellence while building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You will develop and mentor production supervisors and operators, translate customer demand into production plans, monitor throughput and equipment utilization, reduce downtime and waste, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in contract manufacturing, precision machining, aerospace, medical device, or similar industries.
• Proven success managing high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments.

• Oversee daily production activities to ensure customer commitments are met.
• Drive on-time delivery, quality, and productivity across manufacturing operations.
• Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks while maximizing resource utilization.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead production operations in our high-mix, precision contract manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery, and operational excellence while developing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Day Shift

What You'll Do

Lead Manufacturing Operations

• Oversee daily production activities to ensure customer commitments are met.
• Drive on-time delivery, quality, and productivity across manufacturing operations.
• Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks while maximizing resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Develop and Inspire Teams

• Lead and mentor production supervisors, leads, machinists, and operators.
• Build a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee development initiatives.
• Foster employee engagement and retention through strong leadership and communication.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Translate customer demand into executable production plans.
• Monitor key manufacturing metrics including throughput, machine utilization, labor efficiency, and schedule attainment.
• Reduce downtime, setup times, scrap, and other non-value-added activities.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate Across the Organization

• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to support customer requirements.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring production issues.
• Support customer audits, site visits, and new product introductions.
• Provide operational updates and performance reports to senior leadership.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in contract manufacturing, precision machining, aerospace, medical device, or similar industries.
• Proven success managing high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments.

Preferred Skills

• Strong knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, OEE, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
