Job summary

O.f.-Mossberg- Eagle Pass, TX is seeking a experienced manufacturing supervisor to manage operators and area assets to execute the production plan efficiently. This role focuses on meeting daily production needs, safety, quality, and cost metrics while supporting training and onboarding of staff.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in manufacturing/operations with three years in supervisory roles, and solid knowledge of Lean tools such as Standard Work, SMED and 6S.

Qualifications

  • Five years of manufacturing/operations experience.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Lean tools: Standard Work, SMED, 6S.

Responsibilities

  • Leads production team to meet the daily production needs of the customer and the OTD goal for the site while meeting safety, quality, efficiency, and cost metrics.
  • Prepares and communicates daily work assignments within the assigned area.
  • Ensures that required materials, tooling, fixtures, and parts are available to execute daily production plan.
  • Audit 6s checklists for the assigned area to ensure a safe and clean working environment
  • Audit TPM checklists for the assigned area to ensure that the equipment is kept in good working condition.
  • Supports the development and execution of cross-training plans to have at least two people able to perform every defined task. Use Manufacturing Documentation to provide training to staff, as needed. Lead efforts to onboard new employees.
  • Identifies product/production problems, review production re-work and rejected part inspection reports. Assist in determining and eliminating causes; works with support departments to minimize rejects and maintain optimum production flow.
  • Conducts operations safely, in compliance with OSHA standards, completes safety inspections and toolbox talks as required.
  • Responsible to act to prevent the process, product, or Quality System nonconformances and to recommend solutions while establishing root cause and countermeasures for misses.
  • Ensures individual accountability for meeting product quality standards and production schedule commitments while maintaining accurate area inventory and Kanban levels.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day execution of various aspects of their assigned team including application of company policies, routine working rules and regulations, employee growth, attendance, and safety.
  • May be required to run production to help execute daily production goals or to fill in for absent team members within the assigned area.
  • Identifies staffing and equipment needed to meet production requirements and suggests solutions to fill gaps in the resource plan.
  • Trains, and motivates personnel as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Experience
  • Strong manufacturing/operations background with five (5) years of experience
  • Three (3) years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Lean tools such as Standard Work, SMED and 6S
  • High School Diploma Required, Associate Preferred
  • Exposure to and practical understanding of Lean Manufacturing
  • Must have excellent people skills and strong leadership skills
Working conditions

Exposure to shop elements making conditions less desirable than usually found in an office.
