Description: The opportunity to be part of a team that manufactures and distributes high-quality chemicals. It offers exposure to all aspects of an office and plant environment, including Safety, General Administration, Logistics, Vendor/Supplier Management, and Customer Service. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations.

Key responsibilities (may include but not limited to):

  • Maintaining rail car inventory, including Chlorine, ferrous, ferric, HCL, and empties.
  • Generating shipping papers for railcars using RSI.
  • Managing chlorine inventory and emailing the spreadsheet to key departments daily.
  • Scheduling repairs and downtime with the maintenance team.
  • Receiving Cl2 cars in and out of the plant.
  • Receiving AFC orders.
  • Entering pack and production orders into the system daily.
  • Receiving drums and super sacs from BASF, Germany, monthly.
  • Entering lab results for various chemicals into the system to create day tank and railcar lots.
  • Viewing or printing allocation reports twice daily.
  • Assisting plant administrator with order allocations and documentation, including printing sales orders, COAs, and attaching necessary paperwork.
  • Organizing orders into proper bins and folders for pickup.

Ordering:

  • Mill scale and iron for reduction.
  • Ferrous and HCL.
  • Repacking materials, drums, and totes.

Purchasing:

  • Entering, updating, and receiving in-stock and non-stock purchase orders.
  • Resolving issues with invoices and purchase orders in collaboration with administrative and accounting departments.

Miscellaneous:

  • Preparing and holding monthly safety meetings.
  • Filling in for absent administrators or plant managers.
  • Assisting with document control and reviews.
  • Managing telephone coverage and vendor interfaces.
  • Conducting weekly safety audits.
  • Managing production, lab staff, and inventory, including KPI tracking and work order follow-up.

All employees are expected to uphold the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care principles, emphasizing environmental, health, safety, and security responsibilities.

Operator’s Training
  • Standardizing process operations.
  • Training on analysis procedures.
  • Inspecting railcars.

Required Education / Training / Experience:

  • Customer service or accounts payable experience.
  • Problem-solving, conflict resolution, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • People skills and proficiency in MS Office (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Team player with analytical skills.
  • PSM experience.
  • 5-10 years in plant operations, chemical plant operations, maintenance, or supervision.
  • Mechanical or chemical engineering degree is a plus.

On the Job Training:

  • Order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.
  • Customer and plant personnel communication.
  • Familiarity with Technologies Business systems, ADP, JJ Keller, Responsible Care, Service Report, Emaint, Dakota reporting, and Adage systems.
