Job summary

Miller CAT Corporation, based in Dallas, TX, is hiring to lead daily production activities on the assigned shift. You will schedule work orders, supervise a team of production staff, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3+ years of manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities, knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, and proficiency with Netsuite or similar production tracking tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience, with 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Experience in automotive parts, sheet metal fabrication, or similar precision manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and quality specifications.
  • Proficiency with production tracking software and Netsuite.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods on a manufacturing floor, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across assigned shift(s) or line(s), ensuring output targets and deadlines are met.
  • Create and schedule work orders to ensure optimal and efficient production cycles.
  • Lead, train, and develop a team of production associates and operators; manage scheduling, attendance, and performance.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures; conduct safety briefings and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process and address defects and non-conformances.
  • Track and report daily production metrics (output, downtime, scrap rate, labor efficiency) to leadership.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure components and raw materials are available to meet production schedules.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma principles) to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Handle employee relation issues, including coaching, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
