Position Description

  • Directly supervises the work of all employees in production including train, reviews, hires and progressive discipline; plans and establishes work schedules, assignments to meet production goals

  • Interfaces with various departments to review production schedules and determine timely manner of parts and/or assemblies to meet production deadlines

  • Coordinates with product design group on most effective product design and production techniques

  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements to evaluate department output

  • Responsible for maintaining shop equipment and recommends additional equipment as required

  • Works with outside vendors in meeting inventory and equipment shortages or repair; requisitions materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services

  • Performs periodic checks to ensure that parts and assemblies are produced in accordance with established design and quality standards employee in production

  • Maintain operation data, such as time, production, cost records, and prepare management reports of production results

  • Reviews material requirements, generates purchase requisitions to drive purchasing activity, and follows up to ensure timely deliveries

  • Monitor and inspect materials at receipt to ensure identification, quality and packaging are accurate

  • Works with the programmers, supervisors, managers to plan material deliveries for projects coming up on the schedule

  • Reviews new item routings ensuring labor inputs and costing information is correct

  • Other tasks assigned by Manager


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • 5 years of related experience in planning, purchasing, inventory control or sheet metal fabrication

  • 2-4 years of Leadership experience

  • Experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Strong ERP or MRP background

  • Program and use CAD/CAM

  • Manufacturing routing

  • 1-2 years of Cycle Counting experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
