Position Summary:

As the Production Supervisor you will ensure employee safety, product quality, and asset performance while delivering the production plan for the shift, line, or area on time. In this dynamic position, you will lead a team, actively participate in the hiring process, facilitate employee onboarding, and manage performance and corrective actions. As a problem solver, you will drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the plant.


Collaboration is key in this role, as you will foster proactive cooperation with other teams on-site and within the broader division to ensure alignment with organizational goals. As the Production Supervisor you will lead by example, creating and maintaining a workplace culture that engages and motivates associates at all levels. Your focus on results will be crucial in achieving success, as measured by key performance metrics.

Key Responsibillities:

  • Ensure the timely implementation of the people development plan and verify that team competencies align with the agreed-upon plan with the Production Manager, including proper training on equipment, safety procedures, and hygiene.
  • Enforce strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) by all team members.
    Maintain a safe work environment at all times, ensuring that updated work instructions are available for all positions.
  • Ensure processes are executed in accordance with SOPs, SSOPs, and other relevant documentation.
  • Communicate and manage activities that have an environmental impact in accordance with environmental management guidelines.
  • Meet quality objectives by regularly adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), conducting sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality assessments as per established policies.
  • Actively participate in the prevention and correction of quality-related errors.
  • Monitor and enforce personnel hygiene and safety practices, including the use of protective clothing (uniforms), shoe changes, and handwashing.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to employees to help them meet and exceed job requirements through the NCE (Nestlé Continuous Excellence) approach.
  • Conduct daily reviews of target achievements and report variances during on-the-floor and review meetings.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
  • Ensure continuous line controls and take immediate corrective actions to maintain prescribed quality and compliance with manufacturing instructions, internal and external regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Manage effective employee and industrial relations to ensure smooth factory operations.
  • Ensure an adequate distribution of skills within the team to achieve production plans effectively.
  • Oversee the timely launch of new products to the market in alignment with the business unit/area.
  • Coordinate with quality, engineering, and administration to ensure adequate maintenance of installations.
  • Review daily maintenance effectiveness with Maintenance Mechanics and team members to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and ensure that maintenance and repairs are completed to maximize efficiency.

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience (including military service).
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment; 5+ years of supervisory experience in a similar setting.
  • Experience in food processing or packaging/manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and/or Inventory Control.
  • Familiarity with Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food processing environment.
  • 1+ year of experience in a Continuous Improvement environment (Lean Manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a plus).
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening), with the ability to adjust communication style for diverse audiences and facilitate group coaching and information sharing.
  • Proficient in positively confronting and effectively addressing non-compliance using strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional people skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to motivate others, particularly in mentoring and coaching individuals to identify their short- and long-term development needs.
  • Confidence in personal capacity and judgment, with a willingness to face challenging situations.
  • Developed ability to build personal relationships based on trust, mutual respect, and open communication.
  • Adaptable, with the ability to adjust approaches to meet varied task requirements, modify behavior to align with others’ styles, change priorities to meet evolving demands, and quickly adapt to new responsibilities and tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Capability to set effective and challenging objectives.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on root cause problem solving.
  • High energy level and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and NT/XP/Vista versions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends, with flexibility to switch shifts as required.
  • Ability to work in a factory environment where ambient conditions may be extremely cold, wet, or warm.
