Job summary

AUTOKINITON Belleville – Plant 2 in Belleville, MI is hiring a Full-Time Operations Administrator to support payroll, shift scheduling, and daily production reporting. You will educate associates on policy, safety and quality, monitor SPC charts and inspection sheets, and lead corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

Strong organization, attention to detail, and knowledge of lean manufacturing are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or five years plus related experience.
  • Proven technical ability in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of SPC and measurement tools (micrometers, calipers).
  • Knowledge of welding processes and lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven manufacturing administration skills.
  • Ability to work with computers and automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Educates associates on policy, safety, quality, and production requirements.
  • Maintains housekeeping and 5S standards.
  • Manages daily payroll administration, timekeeping audits, and scheduling adjustments.
  • Monitors quality documentation, inspection sheets, and SPC charts for compliance.
  • Drives waste reduction and safety improvements across production areas.
  • Leads department meetings and communicates issues and resolutions.
  • Oversees setup, scheduling, and inventory reporting for work centers.
  • Supports staffing needs and participates in hiring processes.

  • Educates associates in proper procedures of company policy, safety and quality issues, and production requirements.
  • Continue focus and improvements in housekeeping through 5’s.
  • Performs daily payroll administration before and after each shift, including auditing timekeeping records, correcting missing punches, entering bluelines, adjusting employees’ schedules (add/remove), reviewing and approving or denying EPT/PTO requests within 24hours to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitors required Quality documentation at each specific operation. Ensure all applicable checks on inspection sheets, SPC charts, etc. are being properly completed with any applicable notations/comments.
  • Eliminates waste through safety, quality, and production improvements.
  • Conducts daily department meetings with associates on current issues such as quality, attendance, safety, housekeeping, and production requirements. Answers field questions and notes suggestions as needed.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Communicates staffing needs with supervision.
  • Monitors production plans and provides corrective action as necessary.
  • Monitors, adjusts, and reports inventories.
  • Monitors machinery and equipment. Writes work orders when necessary.
  • Resolves problems logically and effectively. Leads CPR teams to resolution of quality issues.
  • Communicates necessary information to associates.
  • Implement new systems and operations.
  • Participate in applicable “corrective action” activities as deemed essential to plant and customer needs
  • Maintains work center schedule by staying within production and shipping scheduling.
  • Oversees set-up on work centers ensuring quality performance and proper documentation.
  • Ability to fill out daily production reports on all work centers or train operators to do so.
  • Assists in hiring of new associates.
  • Handles a variety of issues from all areas of the plant.
  • Attends all required training.
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor

This Full-Time, salary role is a part of our Autokiniton – Belleville 2 team and reports to the Operations Manager.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven technical ability
  • Knowledge of SPC (including the use of mics, calipers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of welding processes
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven manufacturing administration skills
  • Ability to adapt to and use computers

  • Responsible for reading and understanding the IATF16949, ISO9001:2015 and ISO-14001procedures
  • Ability to conduct meetings, make presentations

  • Proven team building skills
