Job summary

AUTOKINITON Plymouth is seeking a full-time Production Superintendent to lead daily operations at our Plymouth MI facility. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient production, with payroll administration, attendance tracking, and scheduling duties integral to the position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Educates associates on procedures, policy, safety, quality, and production requirements.
• Maintains housekeeping through 5S and monitors daily payroll administration.
• Audits timekeeping, adjusts schedules, and processes PTO requests within 24 hours.
• Monitors quality documentation, inspection sheets, and SPC charts for compliance.
• Eliminates waste via safety, quality, and production improvements.
• Leads daily department meetings to address quality, attendance and production needs.
• Operates machinery per MIOSHA standards and uses required safety equipment.
• Coordinates staffing with supervision and adjusts production plans as needed.
• Oversees set-up on work centers and ensures documentation is complete.
• Manages daily production reports or trains operators to do so.
• Works assigned shifts, weekends and overtime; maintains attendance.
• Reports inventory levels and communicates information to associates.
• Implements new systems and operations; engages in corrective actions as needed.

• Educates associates in proper procedures of company policy, safety and quality issues, and production requirements.

• Continue focus and improvements in housekeeping through 5’s.

• Performs daily payroll administration before and after each shift, including auditing timekeeping records, correcting missing punches, entering bluelines, adjusting employees’ schedules (add/remove), reviewing and approving or denying EPT/PTO requests within 24hours to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

• Monitors required Quality documentation at each specific operation. Ensure all applicable checks on inspection sheets, SPC charts, etc. are being properly completed with any applicable notations/comments.

• Eliminates waste through safety, quality, and production improvements.

• Conducts daily department meetings with associates on current issues such as quality, attendance, safety, housekeeping, and production requirements. Answers field questions and notes suggestions as needed.

• Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)

• Communicates staffing needs with supervision.

• Monitors production plans and provides corrective action as necessary.

• Monitors, adjusts, and reports inventories.

• Communicates necessary information to associates.

• Implement new systems and operations.

• Participate in applicable “corrective action” activities as deemed essential to plant and customer needs

• Maintains work center schedule by staying within production and shipping scheduling.

• Oversees set-up on work centers ensuring quality performance and proper documentation.

• Ability to fill out daily production reports on all work centers or train operators to do so.

• Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime

• Regular and predictable attendance required

• Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor

This Full-Time, salary role is a part of our Autokiniton – Plymouth team and reports to the Production Superintendent.

Required Experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Proven technical ability
• Knowledge of SPC (including the use of mics, calipers, etc.)
• Knowledge of welding processes
• Lean manufacturing experience
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proven manufacturing administration skills
• Ability to adapt to and use computers

• Responsible for reading and understanding the IATF16949, ISO9001:2015 and ISO-14001procedures
