Torrey Holistics in Bellefontaine, OH is seeking a Production Supervisor to train, motivate, and drive continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations. You will lead hourly teams, maintain 5S standards, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and collaborate with maintenance, purchasing, and quality to meet goals.

The role requires a degree in Business or Engineering (or an associate degree with supervisory experience, or 5 years in supervision) and proficiency with ERP, CMMS,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Associates degree with 2 years supervisory experience or 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and experience in timekeeping, ERP, and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and orderly workspace and address safety issues promptly.
  • Lead and develop employees in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Purchasing and Quality to meet organizational goals.
  • Manage hourly team to maximize output and minimize waste.
  • Maintain production schedules and track shift performance with corrective actions.
  • Support 5S standards and process improvements in the work area.
  • Train and review staff and ensure accountability to standards.

Job description

**Position Summary**The production supervisor will train, motivate, and drive continuous improvement of manufacturing operations to achieve performance goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe and orderly workspace. Ensure any safety issues are addressed in a timely fashion with maintenance and actively champion safety programs.Demonstrate the ability to lead and develop employees in a unionized manufacturing environment, applying the Collective Bargaining Agreement consistently, fostering positive labor relations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and workplace standards.Work with Operations, Purchasing, and Quality to achieve organizational goals.Manage hourly team, maximizing output and minimizing waste.Maintain departmental day-to-day production activities, monitor and prioritize workflow and schedules.Conduct daily management of work area.Give technical direction, and/or engage proper help as required.Maintain a training log and improve training for each employee in the department, ensure that teams are cross trained.Actively participate in daily production team meeting.Work with maintenance to ensure machinery is operating efficiently and is safe. Work with team to suggest and implement process improvements.Assist in training and reviewing performance of staff. Ensure accountability and compliance to standards.Track and report on shift performance, to include corrective actions.Audit and maintain 5S standards within assigned work areas, holding team members accountable for workplace organization and cleanlinessEngage with HBD Business System and implement and uphold standards.Able to work second or third shift, and overtime as needed.- 2ndshift hours are 4:00 PM – Midnight - 3rdshift hours are Midnight – 8:00 AMExperience and Education RequiredBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline ORAssociates degree with 2 years supervisory experience OR5 years supervisory experience or equivalentMust be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams) and experienced in the use of timekeeping, ERP, and computerized maintenance work order systems.** Physical Demands**The ability to use hand tools on a regular basisThe ability to climb up onto and down from equipment on a regular basisThe ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environmentThe ability to wear personal protective gear correctly on a regular basisThe ability to stand continuously on a regular basisThe ability to exert medium force occasionally up to 50 lbs., and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objectsThe ability to work flexible and long hours
