Job summary

Defense Mechanics Inc in Denton, Texas is seeking a Production Foreman to lead and manage the production team. The individual will ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery of products while implementing lean processes.

Job Title: Production Foreman

Summary

Lead and manage resources, tools, training, and direction for production employees to be safe, effective and efficient. Balance resource constraints to ensure products meet quality standards, are on time, and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery of product by leading personnel to ensure fulfillment of production schedules at the lowest possible cost.
  • Be a champion of safety by supporting plant safety training, driving safety processes and leading safety communication.
  • Hold teams accountable to processes, systems, and results.
  • Actively coach and implement lean processes and tools.
  • Work with Supervisors and Team Leaders to prevent and/or resolve issues early.
  • Ensure standardized work and process discipline are followed.
  • Suggest changes to equipment, tools, and methods.
  • Gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, ethics and authenticity.
  • Build strong effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Create a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization win.
  • Foster cross functional team approach at all levels.
  • Remove barriers to progress and development.
Qualifications
  • Previous direct supervisory or similar leadership experience.
  • Experience in a high-mix, high-customized, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ISO-9001 requirements and processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • ERP computer experience, SAP preferred.
  • MS Office Word and Excel software experience.
Education / Experience

HS Diploma or equivalent experience. Associates Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology or higher preferred.
